Working on my Scrap Room

This has been a busy weekend.  Jeff finished laying the floor in my scrap room and put together the bottom cabinets.  Last night I stayed up late priming the peg board walls and tonight I put on the first coat of paint.  The green is a little different than I expected.  It always looks different on the wall than it does on the paint chip!  I think I will just have to get used to it.  Here are a couple pics of what the room looks like now and also a pic of the plans to show what the room should look like by the time we are done.
I wish the weekend was longer!  It just flew by and I'm not looking forward to going to work in the morning, especially on such little sleep!

My Scrap Room In Progress

I am very excited to finally be getting my own scrapbooking space!  For years, I have been scrapbooking on our kitchen island and it is always a pain to bring out all the scrapbooking supplies and put them all back again after.  I will be so happy once my space is finished!  Here is a pic of the scrap room in progress!  It looks messy, but it was a lot worse just a few days ago!  This was my dh Jeff's woodworking shop (in our basement) but he is building a new workshop this summer, so I get to take over the old one!  Jeff started laying the floor today and I really like it!  I told him he should just leave the peg board that he had all over the walls when it was his shop because I'm sure it will come in handy to hang up tools, embellishments, etc.  He just finished insulating the room too.  Jeff is installing maple cabinets all along the back wall and the left side of the room so there will be tons of storage.  There will be an island in the middle of the room which will be my main scrapping space.  I have the paint picked out for the walls (green) and the countertop will probably be a blackish granite look, but it will be a laminate countertop.  I still haven't picked out the countertop yet, only samples!
I will be posting pictures of my room's progress, and hopefully the whole room will be finished soon!

Today's Craft Projects

I don't normally have a lot of time to work on projects during the day, but today Paige was out with her Nana and Opa, Ben was having a nap and Jeff was at work, so I got a lot of stuff done!  I used my Hello Kitty cart today (I just picked it up on sale at Michael's yesterday).  I love this cartridge!  There are so many cute extras on it!  I made a cupcake card with Hello Kitty and also the rainbow and sun on the paint can.  The paint can is for the Cute Kiddie Can swap.  I finally got a chance to get this finished!  The castle is from the Paper Dolls cart.  The can is full of educational and fun kid's goodies and a magnetic princess dress-up doll and a magnetic alphabet to be used on the can.  I hope my swap partner likes it!  It was a lot of fun to make!

April NSSS Package

I just received this awesome NSSS package from Chantal (aka Ryansmom on the Cricut mb)!  Chantal even sent a birthday present for my dd, Paige who just turned 3.  Paige loves anything princess-related so she was so thrilled with the special birthday package!
Chantal is a very talented scrapbooker and card maker.  I always enjoy receiving her card creations each month.  Thanks for everything Chantal!

Carrot Easter Goodie Boxes

I made these 'carrots' for my parents for Easter and stuffed them with some jelly beans and cream eggs.  I got the idea from someone who had posted a similar project on the Cricut mb.  Mine aren't as fancy, but I think they still look like carrots!  I used the Cricut cartridge 'Tags, Bags & More" to create these carrots.   They were cut with the cake box with a window design.  I wasn't sure what size to cut them at so I ended up using the 'fit to page' feature which turned out to be a great size for these treat boxes.  They were a little a tricky to put together at first, but this was the first time I had used this cartridge, so I think that's part of the reason why it took me a while to figure out how to fold them together!  Anyway, my parents seemed to like them!

Little Mermaid Centerpiece

I made this centerpiece for my dd's 3rd birthday.  This is the largest centerpiece I've ever made... I cut Ariel at size 10 and both Sebastian and Flounder at size 8.  All cuts were from the Dreams Come True Cricut cartridge.  It was a lot of fun to make and my dd loved it!

Auction Items

I have been busy the last couple of days making some items for our church's annual talent auction.  I made this Easter altered paint can and stuffed it with all sorts of kid's Easter goodies and I also made some greeting cards.  Some of the dolls from paper doll swaps I was in came in handy for some quick cards (the superhero characters and the clown are from doll swaps).
